Jerry Davis' fight for life ends |
|
We received a call early this morning, Sunday, April 20, that Jerry Davis' fight for life in this world has ended. Jerry struggled with an aggressive cancer. The chemo was effective against the cancer but the cure also attached Jerry physically until it could be used no longer. The good news? Jerry reestablished his walk with the Lord. He worked hard to get his life in order for his family (wife Carla and daughter Jennifer). He held on to hope to the very end. I asked him Friday how he felt and his answer was simply, "good."
He was good on the inside where it really matters and he was ready. I'm grateful his family did not have to watch him deteriorate for weeks months without communication. I am going to miss Jerry. He wasn't perfect -- neither is any of of us. He was a simple and he will be missed. Obviously arrangements have not been made at this point. I just wanted you to know. Praise God we have a place to go waiting for us when our bodies give out on us. A place where there is no more pain, or suffering, or dying. A place without temptations or evil. But most importantly, a place of love, a place where we will see Jesus face to face.
This world is not our home. Jerry is home now!

What a heartbreaking story... I want to be ready before I go on. I want to give my respect, and my heart to this family that is affected. I can't imagine how devestading the loss of a loved one is. No words will ever bring him back, but we all know his suffering is over. Lord God, please bring peace, and comfort to this family. In the name of Jesus.
