It's on my heart (and has been for a couple weeks now) because it concerns me greatly! Please watch this youtube video before you proceed: www.youtube.com/watch?v=JW4LLwkgmqA
This is a striking message! I have Eckhart Tolle's book, "A New Earth: Awakening to Your LIfe's Purpose" His premise from the surface is not bad! Live in the moment. Don't let yesterday harm you and don't fret about tomorrow. These are biblical concepts and are healthy practices for all of us. His rise above religion is, however, very dangerous -- exptremely dangerous and is nothing short of idolatry which is forbidden in the Bible.

Oprah, in the video attacks one of the commandments when she referred to her issue with the God of the universe being a "jealous God." That statement was not from her Baptist preacher's opinion, but rather from the Bible and follows the commandment that you shall not have any other gods before God, because He is a jealous God and will not tolerate other gods in your life. To do so is idolatry.

You cannot form in your mind and heart a god that you like. You either accept God as presented in the Word of God or you reject it. Eckhart Tolle fashions a god that he likes. Oprah has been seeking for god she can live with or years now. I like Oprah. I like the person I see when I see Eckhart Tolle. They are both, however, very dangerous and will lead you away from the God of the Bible, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, and away from Biblical Truth!

You cannot decide who God is. You cannot determine for yourself what is right and what is wrong. You cannot pick and choose what you like or dislike about the Bible and only take the parts you like. The Bible itself strickly forbids you to "add or take away" from anything therein pronouncing all the "judgments" an condemations upon the one who does. Jesus said that it would be better for a millstone (a rock weighing tons) to be placed around someone head who leads children astray.

No matter how benevolent Oprah is or how nice Eckhart Tolle seems to be, BEWARE and don't get sucked into this "half truth" message. It is dangerous beyond understanding. The bottom line is that it elevates you to take control and be the "god" of your own life! This got Eve in trouble when Satan tempted her in the same manner. Please pray and hold on to Jesus because there is a spirit of deception that will drag you down to the very pits of hell if you are not careful.

Know this, Jesus loves you. He is the same Yesterday, today and tomorrow. He is the alpha and omega, the beginning and the end. He is the GREAT I AM -- that is the God of the moment but He is also preparing a place for those who let go of their own lives and follow Him. If you want to be the god of your own life, I hope you have the power to take care of your own afterlife, otherwise you're going to be in trouble. If you want to be the god of your own life, I pray you have the strength of character and the access to truth to be handle the many challenges and heartaches of this world.

If you will ask Jesus to reveal Himself to you, He will. I know -- He has for me -- a million times over. I pray that you will seek the truth. Jesus is the way, the TRUTH and the life. No ones comes to the Father but through Him. Enough said -- God bless you in your quest.[/youtube]

I just wondered (as a reader of many books) if this was new agey or a good positive Godly book.

I shall not waste money on it.

Listening to the May 4th sermon right now by the way.....so good for me RIGHT NOW.
